The Fantasy Kickoff - Fantasy Football Tips

Top Five Fantasy Players on the Giants

by Kori Ellis on January 26th, 2008

The New York Giants don’t have a lot of household fantasy football names, however didn’t stop them from getting to the Super Bowl. Here are the top five fantasy football players on the Giants.

1. Plaxico Burress, Wide Receiver
After watching Burress single-handedly destroy the Green Bay Packers, it’s hard not to expect great things out of him in the Super Bowl. He’s going up against a great defense but he’s had success against all types of defenses this year. His size and strength makes him a tough cover for anyone in the NFL.

2. Eli Manning, Quarterback
Manning hasn’t produced great fantasy numbers in the playoffs but he’s also not making any mistakes. Without a turnover in the playoffs, Manning is pushing all the right buttons. If the Giants are going to win this game, Manning is going to have to play the game of his life.

3. Brandon Jacobs, Running Back
Jacobs is the biggest running back in the NFL and is quickly becoming one of the best. Especially around the endzone, Jacobs becomes nearly impossible to stop. Teams have been able to run against the New England Patriots this year so Jacobs will likely be leaned on heavily.

4. Ahmad Bradshaw, Running Back
Bradshaw is Jacobs’ backup and is a great change of pace back. He’s small and light but he can break off a big play whenever he touches the ball. If Jacobs struggles at all, expect Bradshaw to take over as the main running back for the Giants.

5. Amani Toomer, Wide Receiver
Toomer has been great in the playoffs. He had three touchdown receptions in the Giants’ first two playoff games. Toomer is going to have a hard time getting open against the Patriots but he’ll have his chances to produce. Manning has shown that he has a lot of trust in Toomer’s abilities.
