Kickers and Defenses: Week 6
Scouring the waiver wire for kickers and defenses? Here are some options that could be available in your fantasy football league this week.
Phil Dawson, Cleveland Browns
Dawson has a very good matchup this week against the Dolphins. With Jamal Lewis likely sidelined, that should hurt the Browns’ offense just enough to keep Dawson busy. It wouldn’t be surprising at all to see Dawson boot three or four field goals in this game.
Rob Bironas, Tennessee Titans
Tampa Bay versus Tennessee just sounds like it’ll come down to a kicking duel. Bironas is available in a lot of leagues and could be a good fill-in in Week 6. He has a good leg and should be in line for a busy Sunday.
Kris Brown, Houston Texans
Brown was probably picked up after last week’s legendary performance. If he wasn’t, go ahead and pick him up and play him with confidence versus Jacksonville. That promises to be a low scoring game where the outcome is decided by a kick.
Arizona Cardinals
Going against David Carr and the Panthers sounds like a good matchup. Going against an injured David Carr makes this an even better matchup. The Cardinals’ defense has been impressive this year and should have another good outing.
New York Giants
The Giants are a hot defense. They’ve had two big fantasy scoring weeks in a row. This week, they play on Monday Night against the Falcons. Joey Harrington, like David Carr, is a quarterback that fantasy owners like going against.
Houston Texans
This matchup doesn’t look great on paper, but the Texans always seem to play the Jaguars tough. A defensive touchdown isn’t out of the question this week for Houston. Overall, their defense is much better than in years past.
