Justin McCareins 2008 Fantasy Projections
Justin McCareins is back with the Tennessee Titans, the team where he had his most success in the NFL. McCareins comes over from the New York Jets. The Jets, where McCareins played four largely disappointing seasons, weren’t too sad to see him go.
McCareins best season of his career came in 2003 when he had 813 yards and seven touchdowns with the Titans. In his four seasons with the Jets, McCariens totaled seven touchdowns.
In 2008, McCareins production will depend on whether he secures a starting job. As a starter, McCareins would be a nice endzone target for Vince Young. As a starter, he’d project to about 750 yards and five touchdowns. However, if he doesn’t start, McCareins won’t do much of anything next season.
The signing of McCareins is also a slight boost to Young’s draft stock. Young had almost no one to throw the ball to last year. Now with the additions of players like McCareins and Alge Crumpler, Young actually has options.
