Infirmary Report – Week 6

by Kori Ellis on October 15th, 2007

Vince Young, Tennessee Titans
Young left the game against Tampa Bay with strained quad. His status is unknown for Week 7. However, he’s going against Houston so you can bet he’ll do everything in his power to return. That said, the injury looked painful and could keep him out for a while. Kerry Collins is the Titans’ backup QB.

Vince Young

Kurt Warner, Arizona Cardinals
Right when the Kurt Warner Era looked like it was going to take off in Arizona, Warner was grounded by an elbow injury. Tim Rattay entered the game for Warner and he would probably continue to start if Warner is out for an extended amount of time. Warner has been brittle in recent years and in his first start, he couldn’t even get out of the first quarter.

Ben Watson, New England Patriots
Watson was having a great season at tight end for the Patriots. That could change after injuring his ankle against the Cowboys. If Watson is unable to return in upcoming weeks, that’ll be a big blow to fantasy owners who were depending on Watson as their week-in, week-out tight end.

Sammy Morris, New England Patriots
Morris left with an injury that seems related to either his chest or his arm. Some sources are claiming a broken arm, while other sources are saying it could be a broken collarbone. And then there are others that say Morris’ injury hasn’t been specified as of yet. No matter the case, it seems like Morris could be out for a while. If he is, expect Kevin Faulk to assume Morris’ role on the Patriots.

Alex Smith, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Although there is no official diagnosis as of yet, Smith appeared to have suffered an ugly leg injury that could sideline him for a significant amount of time. However, fantasy owners should wait to see if he should be dropped until they here official word. Smith is a touchdown catching tight end who isn’t a bad second tight end on a fantasy team … when healthy.
