Brett Favre Comeback Imminent?

by Kori Ellis on April 5th, 2008

According to a report in the Los Angeles Times, Brett Favre’s agent has been in quiet talks with NFL teams to see whether there is interest in trading for Favre around the league.

James “Bus” Cook, Favre’s agent, denied the report.

“I don’t think that has anything to do with anything. He’s retired, period, point blank,” Cook the Los Angeles Times.

Favre also denied the claim when speaking with SI.com.

Said Favre: “That’s the last thing I’m thinking about. I have no idea where that came from, but it certainly didn’t come from me. I’m happy about my decision and I haven’t once said, ‘I wonder if I made the wrong decision.’ I know it’s the right one.”

“It’s crazy to me that I’m the guy they’re all talking about, and the story is out there everywhere, and I have nothing to do with it. It’s not something I’m thinking about. It’s kind of funny. Even when I’m retired, they won’t let me stay retired.”

Will Brett Favre unretire? We think so . . .

You know he is coming back. He still has fire for the game and can compete. Guys like that never go quietly. It would be weird though to see him on any team but Green Bay. If he came back I couldn’t see him playing for another team.

Really, I think the one thing that’ll keep Favre from ever making a comeback is not wearing a Packers’ jersey. It’s always been important to him to finish up his career at Lambeau.

You can bet thet he’ll come back. It will be really sad to see Brett Favre retire with his final play of the championship game ended with his costly interception that costed the team the trip to the Super Bowl 42 and leave on a very sour note by having his worst game of his career by not completing a single pass against a very bad defensive team the GIANTS that got lucky and won the super bowl 42.
